Is there an alternative for the wine ??
i don`t know that you`d need to fry bacon for 10 minutes, especially when it's going to be in the oven for 45 minutes. i`d prolly fry the bacon just enough to cook the raw out. otherwise it looks like a yummy meal. potatoes fried with onions from raw would really top off this dish. what i do is slice the potato into slightly thicker than potato chips, then slice the onion a little thicker, and separate the rings of each slice of onion pt then all in a fry pan sprayed with nonstick spray and some peanut oil. start them off at high heat and sprinkle them with some salt for taste. if it isn`t enough, you can always give them a shake or 2 of salt at the table. as the potatoes start to brown drop the temp to around 7 or 8. you have to keep flipping the potatoes in the pan so all the potatoes will get browned as well, and it helps to keep them from burning. they don`t take much more than around 15 minutes, depending of course how thick you have them sliced. i try to keep mine to around the 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch thick. thicker slices of potato will take longer too cook. thank you so much for sharing my friend, with love from Wes!! hugs!!!
p.s. most stoves have numbers around the dial with high or 10 as the hottest and low or 1 was the least warm. if you just have high, medium and low with settings in between, turn the heat down to medium or a tad higher. if you find the potatoes are browning too quickly, then go below medium. if you know your stove when you cook, then let common sense prevail.
