Becky, what are you doing to yourself? You look great! You have all my favorite recipes, too! The part about hydrogenated oil is right on. If people just eliminate that one thing from their diet, they will probably lose weight just from that without much effort. Bob Greene says to eliminate sugar completely but I say life is too short, just use moderation.
My local produce market is giving away pumpkins and squash at the end of the season. I've baked several of them this year and have lots of it in the freezer for pies and muffins. Love pumpkin. Bought one for the first time called Long Island Cheese pumpkin. It's an heirloom variety and is supposed to make an excellent pie. Can't wait to try it out.

There is a reason for beginning baking a pumpkin pie at a high temp and then turning it down. If you don't do the high temp at first you'll end up with a soggy crust on the bottom that doesn't really get done. We've baked the pumpkin custard without the crust for years because we like it better that way.
What happened to the roasted pumpkins ?
