Kecap Manis? It is sweet soy sauce. Most of the Indonesian food use this. You can find them easily in Asian stores. Can't wait to try this recipe!

I just had this for lunch yesterday! It's one of my favorites. Definitely going to make this recipe, maybe over roasted cauliflower to make it extra good for me, so I can enjoy it more – yum.

"ke" like "KEnya" (the 'e' like Echo.. not like 'ay')
The "c" is like "CHips" or "jackie CHan" with the H
"A" like "ah" …. with a normal "p"

"Nis" like "chiNESE" with an S not a Z…

Manis means sweet.
So it translates as sweet soy sauce.
Regular soy sauce we eat with sushi (the salty one)
Is called kecap asin (pronounced AH sin) or salty soy sauce.

this looks good. But i suggest leaving out the brown sugar and fish sauce. There is no need for the sugar and it will still taste great.

I'm Thai and really happy that you made this dish. When we can't decide what to eat, Thai basil with pork is usually our first choice😆. For the basil, my mom directly planted it into the soil in a rainy season and it grown so fast.
Omg I use kecap manis almost for everything! Fried rice, grilled chicken, chicken satay, everything 😂 anyway, I guess 'kecap'pronounces like ke-cap (like you say 'chop'?). Manis means sweet! Thanks for another great recipe!
