Made stuffed mushrooms for New Years Eve for the first time ever. They came out fantastic. However I scraped out the gills and peeled a layer off the tops since they were really dirty. Is that a common thing to do or do most everyone just wash and dry them. Also do people scrape out the gills? Thanks for any tips.

These were pretty good. I made the eggs/breadcrumb version. I also sprinkled the top with mozzarella cheese. I recommend using only 1 tomato, it will be mushy otherwise. 30 min @ 350 is perfect tender.
In trying to eat right I've had trouble keeping the constant portions of vegetables fresh without sacrificing room in my fridge. Looks great. I have looked at other recipes and may try this one. I like that you always mention what you find in these vegetables like proteins, vitamins and minerals. I am not crazy about zucchini, is there a nice substitute for it. What can I pair with it to make a full entree?

how are you supposed to eat those? if you wanted to look fancy makin em, probably should know the proper way to eat them :D
I was all set to try this recipe until you added the eggs. I understand the body needs cholesterol and can make it regularly on its own. So I am not worried about having enough cholesterol even though I don't eat any eggs or other foods containing cholesterol.
I will be trying this recipe soon it looks so yummy. I think I will top with some reduced fat cheese instead of using the bread.
