I have to try this! I haven't made a cobbler since I was 16. I lived with my grandparents in the country with just about every type of fruit or nut available fresh. Grandad always had a garden and we grew all fruits and vegetables. His tomatoes and watermelon were outstanding. OK…my point was I made them from cherries, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, raspberries and other fruits. I won't rest easy until I make one of these. I made a batter with flour, butter, baking soda and sugar (or brown sugar)and poured over the fruit which came out kind of cakeish. YUM!!!!!

Dump cake
I've made 2 a week since I saw this. Used cherry and apple from the $ store and had to go to a a grocery store for strawberry and blueberry. I wish the dollar store carried more and different fruit. The last two were $4+ a can at the grocery store, but a nice treat anyway. Thanks for the recipe.

I love this! Super simple and cheap…I shop at the Dollar Tree all the time, but never thought about buying the cake mix. I do buy can fruit ..got some peaches and fried apples..will definitely try this this week with peaches…thanks a bunch for posting!

if you take the whole cake mix and mix it in with the fruit filling and add two eggs makes the best dump cake ever, or you can put it in mini loaf pans, makes a good fruit bread and cook it or 40 minutes at 350 degrees F

Yum. I learned all my cooking from my mother who did not grow up in the US. It's so time consuming her way because she was raised on a farm & everything was always from scratch . I just love these quick, yummy, easy recipes.
I do 1can pie filling to a jiffy cake mix or full size cake mix to 2 cans fruit. Great over the campfire in a Dutch oven. Also choc cake mix / cherries or spice cake mix / apples

Do the fruit filling and cake mix in a crockpot pour a can of lemon-lime soda over put on the lid three hours on low- voila! Even cheaper than margarine or butter still great!

Thanks for sharing. You seem to have made this several times. I'm OCD, so I like exact pan sizes. I'll mail you a ruler or tape measure of you need one. Truly, I will. I carry one on my purse. You'd be surprised how often you need to measure something. I love Home Goods store cuz they have free tape measures hanging ask thru the store. I know it doesn't really matter.
